Vers1ons
Vers1ons is a licensing marketplace for remixes. Rights holders set the terms, creators buy a license, and royalties go back to every artist up the remix chain.
I wrote the platform's first code in 2024 and picked the stack it still runs on. The rights model it checks every license against started as my paper, the Tensorial Rights Framework. I also wrote the original service that turns legal templates into contract PDFs.
The engineering team I built has written most of the code since, and I still ship code for the platform nearly every week. The engineers work from a shared set of agent skills, the written instructions their coding agents follow. An engineer on the team built the preview environments that any branch can get from a Slack command.
This year I redesigned how the platform models a label, so the company that licenses the music and the person who signs for it are two different parties. I also built Vers1ons Charts, a chart of the most-streamed remixes, edits and sped-up versions, refreshed every morning.
